DN Media Group has recently merged its commercial departments to create a shared service group that will work closely with the our Publishers and Group Management to ensure the best possible commercial development for our 10 publications.
We are now on the search for leader to take responsibility of this newly formed commercial structure, who has experience in leading strategic change and improvement.
Your strategic role:
With overall responsibility for the group's total income, in close collaboration with the publishers, a focus on digital income streams and insight into online customer relations will be central to the efforts of your team. You will lead units in Norway and the UK and will coordinate initiatives and resources across the global organisation.
Your day-to-day:
- Develop strategies for revenue growth in subscriptions, advertising sales and service sales.
- Play a leading role in development of the commercial product portfolio.
- Ensuring that DN Media Group takes a leading position in digital development and services.
- Lead the sales organisations and develop a strong commercial culture, with best practice commercial processes.
- Lead important commercial negotiations
- Work closely with the editorial organisations and support functions to gain optimal use of corporate resources in all commercial activities.
- Responsibility for shaping value propositions relevant to selected target groups - from business case to profit realization
- Increasing digital users' numbers by creating attractive product offerings and packages with competitive pricing strategy
- The role has overall responsibility for; marketing including production and sales of content marketing, advertising sales (digital direct, programmatic, print) and events and conferences.
- Strengthen the marketing function and in parallel develop knowledge sharing and collaboration with the media houses.
- Prioritize most profitable Group initiatives/projects in collaboration with group management.
- Lead a constructive change management program in the integration of the two teams to build a common culture.
Your background:
- Relevant education at Master's level.
- Experience from business development/commercial roles and minimum 10-15 years of experience as a manager.
- Background from strong customer and market focused organizations with both experience and interest in leading a sales organization
- Experience in the media industry is highly desirable
- Documented management experience from complex, knowledge-based organizations in transition, preferably background from larger matrix organizations.

- Business and commercially oriented. Strategic and quick to grasp the business model, drivers and KPIs.
- Analytical, structured and solution-oriented. Must thrive on depth of detail - not just scratching the surface.
- Strong in communication, influencing and ability to motivate and "drive" both your own team and the group.
- Robust in discussions and negotiations.
- Confident leader. Strong ability and willingness to interact internally and externally
- Ability to navigate change with an agile approach. Assist in the change journey – both business-wise and empathetically.
- Excellent management and implementation ability – with particular focus on development.
