DN Media Group provide specialist knowledge, breaking news and market insight to a world-wide audience and owns leading global publications including TradeWinds, Recharge, Intrafish, Hydrogen Insight and Upstream, is looking for an experienced Conference Producer to join our growing global events team
Your strategic role:
You will take the lead in shaping the editorial and thematic direction of high-level conferences and forums produced by DN Media Group’s global brands. Working closely with the industry’s key stakeholders, our senior editors, and commercial teams, you will develop programmes that reflect the most relevant trends, challenges and opportunities across shipping, energy, renewables, seafood and finance.
This is a hands-on role that involves research, agenda creation, speaker acquisition, and ensuring that every event delivers real insight and value for our international audience. IT will report directly into the Director of Content Marketing & Global Events.
Your day-to-day:
- In-depth market and industry research of key subject areas and hot topics within a particular industry sector. Identifying the target audience and finding out what they want / need to know.
- Develop compelling conference agendas aligned with DN Media Group’s editorial vision and brand positioning.
- Identify and secure top-level speakers, panellists, and moderators from industry, government, and finance
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and commercial teams to ensure programme quality and audience engagement
- Manage programming timelines, speaker communications, and content updates leading up to each event
- Represent the company at industry events to maintain and build networks
- Copy Writing – Writing promotional copy in the form of a conference program, in the language of the target audience, ensuring that all sales-driven materials such as web, direct mail and email copy will maximise delegate attendance.
- Generating new ideas for content of conferences based on global trends
- Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders including senior level industry professionals
- C-level engagement on a daily basis, speaker support, ensuring content is developed properly and is of an acceptable quality to be presented in our events.
- Manage risk in live event environments including testing, back-up plans, and minimizing opportunity for mistakes in the run of show.
- Remain up-to-date on industry trends; Research and develop ideas for new conferences that will qualify for the inclusion in the Event Portfolio of DN Global Publications.
Your background:
- Significant experience in leading high profile b2b conference in programming (not exhibition), ideally in B2B media organisation or international event organisations.
- If you have a background of producing high-end conferences in Energy sector will have a definite plus.
- Strong understanding of business journalism and the energy, renewables, or maritime sectors
- Excellent research and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines with precision and calm under pressure
- Confident working with senior executives and thought leaders
- A collaborative and globally minded approach
- Understanding of Event lifecycle and project management, research and attention to detail
- Strategic thinker who can identify emerging trends and market shifts and present ideas to management
- Strong creative vision and point of view for events, event video and overall conference production
