Introduction to the role:
As the Head of Data & Insights at DN Media Group, you will play a central role in defining and executing the organisation's data strategy and roadmap while fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making. The team consists of competencies and expertise areas such as data engineering, data science, data analysis, business intelligence, and digital analysis with teams based in both Oslo and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The impact of your role extends across the entire organization, as team members are integrated into various product teams.
Data platform:
The Data and Insight team operates a modern cloud data platform that powers reporting, analytics, and data science across the business.

Data pipelines & modelling: Apache Airflow, dbt
Reporting & analytics: Google Data Studio, Apache Superset
AI & data science: a modern environment for machine learning and generative AI
Your strategic role:
Lead and oversee data usage across DN Media Group. Championing a data-driven culture.
Build on and further develop our existing data strategy, unlocking its full potential in partnership with stakeholders across the business.
Lead efforts to ensure the organisation has a robust data platform by continuously improving tools and processes, and by maintaining high standards of data quality.
Enable experimentation and establish measurement frameworks that support A/B testing, continuous learning, and data-informed decision-making.
Drive data capabilities that support personalisation, AI initiatives, and audience growth across the organisation.
Your day-to-day:
You will be serving as the people manager for the team, including coaching and supporting on a day-to-day basis, fostering a quality culture and supporting their personal development.
Ensuring a good workflow and communication both within the team, department, and towards the organisation.
Collaborating closely with colleagues across Product & Technology, our publishing organizations and commercial departments to enable data-driven development.
You will ensure competency and capacity according to business needs and strategic direction within the team.
This position reports directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) and is part of the Product and Technology leadership team.
Your background:
You have a minimum of five years of hands-on experience, coupled with a proven track record of leading data or development teams.
Hold higher education, preferably in technology, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
Can demonstrate strong analytical, strategic, and proactive thinking, together with a passion for all aspects of data.
Have excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, a team player, with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of colleagues across the organisation.
Are fluent in both English and a Scandinavian language.
