As a UX designer for our editorial products, you work at the heart of the company. You will solve user problems for ten different publications who are market leaders within their sectors: shipping, seafood, energy, and business news. Across our titles we have more than 3,5 million visits every week, which means that a lot of people will benefit from what you work on every day! You will work from Oslo, but you will also be part of a global team with colleagues in London, Singapore, Dhaka and Stamford.

Your day-to-day:
- You'll join DN Media Group's product & technology department, working with UX designers, product managers, developers, analysts, and data scientists.
As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a key role in the product development for all our 10 news products. Our Common Publication Product team design and build reusable product components and creates and maintain the design system. This important and foundational work helps other product development teams run fast and make sure we provide a consistent user experience. It also set us up for fast versioning of newly developed features to all our news products.
Your workdays will be diverse, focusing on design, collaboration, and strategic planning. You'll lead workshops, talk to users, present ideas to stakeholders, work hands-on with design in Figma and mentor and guide the whole UX design community.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve the common component design system
- Ensure regular contact with the newsrooms and end user
- Hands-on design work in Figma
- Utilize data and user insights for design improvement and opportunity discovery
- In close collaboration with the tech lead and the product manager, you ensure the whole team balance user needs, business value and technical feasibility
- Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG) in design solutions
- Ensure Product consistency and usability
- Collaborate with all cross-functional teams for design system implementation
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder presentation
- Mentor other designers and contribute to UX best practices
Your background:
- Minimum 5 years UX design experience (related experience can compensate)
- Expert-level Figma proficiency
- Expertise in user empathy methods.
- Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility (WCAG)
- Experience in cross-functional team collaboration
- Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English
- Ability to think strategically and see the big picture
- Media industry experience is a big plus
